Important Usage Agreements

Channel Island Hosting provides web hosting to clients worldwide, and we have a responsibility to protect each client and to provide the best services available. All clients of Channel Island Hosting are subject to the following terms of service:

Support Levels

Channel Island Hosting undertakes to:

  • Respond to all customer and non-customer communications within 24 hours.
  • Maintain secure and up to date systems and resources for the benefit of the customer.
  • Comply with the Data Protection and GDPR laws and best practice standards required within the Bailiwick of Guernsey jurisdiction.
  • Communicate in advance any intended price increase, to customers presently subscribing to any product or service that would be effected.
  • Treat customers fairly and with respect, as well as meeting our Terms & Conditions.

Indemnification Policy

You agree to use all Channel Island Hosting services and facilities at your own risk. Channel Island Hosting specifically disclaims all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Channel Island Hosting be liable for any loss, or loss of data, or other commercial damage, including but not limited to special, incidental, consequential or other damages.

Customer agrees that it shall defend, indemnify, save and hold Channel Island Hosting harmless from any and all demands, liabilities, losses, costs and claims, including reasonable attorney's fees asserted against Channel Island Hosting, its agents, its customers, officers and employees, that may arise or result from any service provided or performed or agreed to be performed or any product sold by customer, it's agents, employees or assigns. Customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Channel Island Hosting against liabilities arising out of Any injury to person or property caused by any products sold or otherwise distributed in connection with Channel Island Hosting's server.

Channel Island Hosting reserves the right to intervene with any of the sites hosted on its servers in the interest of its customers. Any material supplied by customer infringing or allegedly infringing on the proprietary rights of a third party Copyright infringement any defective products sold to customer from Channel Island Hosting's server. Channel Island Hosting shall be the sole judge of what violates this Policy.

Channel Island Hosting will not suffer any person or automated process to store, distribute, stream or route materials, media or data perceived to contravene the Laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey or the jurisdiction within which said data, media or materials is physically stored. Channel Island Hosting will report any such activity to the respective authorities, and where those legal authorities contact Channel Island Hosting in respect of specific activity, we will undertake to fully comply with such a request. For the sake of clarity, this includes but is not limited to: child pornography, terrorist activity, internet fraud or spam email operations, illegal sales of weapons, illegal sales of drugs, human trafficking, the instigation, incitement or dissemination of hate material/information as considered illegal by the Bailiwick of Guernsey or the governing jurisdiction legal authorities where such data, media or material is stored. Channel Island Hosting recognises and supports the need for freedom of speech, but not at the cost of decency, morality and legality.

Channel Island Hosting reserves the right to immediately suspend any hosting site or domain that infringes the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, or the laws of the jurisdictions in which their hosting service is provisioned.

Billing

At this time we offer a number of billing period options, depending upon the packages and services we are offering at any one time. If you are not satisfied within your first 30 days (or one month, where appropriate), we undertake to provide you with a refund, less the period of time used, if at all possible. (For some products, services or special offers, especially those provided by a third-party service, our ability to provide a refund will depend on the third-party terms and conditions.)
